Fishing on Lake Michigan out of the Milwaukee harbor has been awesome, we have been catching some very very large Chinook salmon. The salmon are just starting to stage just outside the gaps the water temp this evening were 71 just outside the main gap. There are some very large salmon around this year due to the decrease in salmon stockings and the reason for that is to get the Baitfish population back where it needs to be to support more stockings. We have followed local trout and salmon Derbys this year and its nice to see the huge salmon showing up for these tournaments. Heres a few photos of a large Chinook salmon and a coho salmon shapped like a football.
